May 15, 1981: Mount Pagan erupted on the island of Pagan – the largest of 19 in recorded history. Over Fifty Pagan residents, most of whom were children, were safely evacuated to Saipan the next day. Thirty-nine years later, Survivors and their descendants long to resettle the island.
